Experience: Jeff Mikulina is the former executive director of the Blue Planet Foundation (through Oct. 15), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to accelerate our transition to a just and sustainable energy future. Through collaboration and advocacy, Blue Planet champions scalable policies and programs to solve our climate crisis. Among other accomplishments, the organization led the successful public campaign to make Hawaii the first state in the nation with a 100% renewable energy mandate. After starting his career as the Sierra Club’s youngest state chapter director, Mikulina has served at the helm of sustainability advocacy organizations for nearly 23 years. His particular interests include shifting social norms, disruptive technology, and public policy. Jeff received a Master’s of Science degree in engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a specialty in decision theory.
